Tata Motors Limited is an Indian Automotive manufacturer with its headquarters in Mumbai, India which is part of Tata Group. The company produces passenger cars, trucks, vans, coaches, buses, luxury cars, sports cars, construction equipment.
Formerly known as Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company (TELCO), the company was founded in 1945 as a manufacturer of locomotives. The company manufactured its first commercial vehicle in 1954 in a collaboration with Daimler-Benz AG, which ended in 1969.
Tata Motors entered the passenger vehicle market in 1988 with the launch of the TataMobile followed by the Tata Sierra in 1991, becoming the first Indian manufacturer to achieve the capability of developing a competitive indigenous automobile.
And in 1988 Tata launched the first fully indigenous Indian Passenger car Indica, and Tata is also the first company to launch the world's most affordable Nano Car

Maruti Udyog Limited was founded by the Government of India on 24 Jan 1981 with Suzuki Motor Corporation as a minor partner, only to become the formal JV partner and license holder of Suzuki in August 2021. The first manufacturing factory of Maruti was established in Gurugram, Haryana, in the same year.
Maruti Suzuki has a market share of 49% in the Indian passenger car market.
In 1991, Suzuki increased its stake in Maruti to 50%, making the company a 50-50 JV with the government of India.
In 2000, Maruti became the first car company in India to launch a call center for internal and customer services.
In 2016, Maruti Suzuki announced the launch of its first light commercial vehicle (LCV) Super Carry in the domestic market.

ASHOK LEYLAND

It is owned by the Hinduja Group. It was founded in 1948 by Raghunandan Saran a freedom fighter from Punjab.
Thus Ashok Motors was incorporated in 1948 as a company to assemble & manufacture Austin cars from England.
In 1949, an agreement was reached between Ashok Motors & Leyland, UK and Ashok Motors got sole rights to import, assemble & progressively manufacture Leyland trucks for 7 years
As Ashok Motors and became Ashok Leyland in the year 1955.
In 1993, Ashok Leyland was the first Indian Auto company to receive ISO 9002 certification.
In 2007, the Hinduja Group also bought 51% shares of Ashok Leyland.
Today the company is the flagship of the Hinduja Group.
Ashok Leyland is the second-largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles in India, the third-largest manufacturer of buses in the world, and the tenth-largest manufacturers of trucks
