The existence of the upcoming Royal Enfield Scram 411 has been confirmed through a leaked dealer presentation, implying that an official launch is just around the corner.
The presentation also reveals certain details about the features and specs of the Scram, thereby giving us a clearer look against the Himalayan, on which it is based. Also differentiating the Scram will be an aluminium cowl around the headlight, and the lack of a rear luggage rack.
The Tripper navigation pod seen on the Himalayan will also be available here, but the front windscreen will not be carried over, as already seen in spy shots.
When seen alongside the Himalayan, the Scram appears to have a slightly smaller front wheel – perhaps a 19-incher in place of the Himalayan's 21-incher. This could explain why its ground clearance, at 200mm, is slightly lower than the Himalayan's 220mm.
With dealers being briefed about the upcoming motorcycle, it should only be a matter of days, or weeks, before an official launch takes place and the bike starts arriving in showrooms.
Considering its equipment and specification levels compared to the Himalayan, expect the Scram 411 to be priced roughly Rs 5,000-10,000 lower than the Himalayan, indicating that it could start around Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom).
