Volvo has increased the prices of its select range of SUVs and sedan by upto 4 percent, effective April 19. As is the case usually, the automaker has attributed the hike to rising input and operating costs.
- XC90 sees the highest price mark-up of Rs 3 lakh
- S90 sees the lowest price increase of Rs 1 lakh
- Prices of the XC90 Recharge and S60 Inscription remain the same
Volvo variant-wise price breakup
All Volvo SUVs – XC40, XC60 and XC90 – as well as the S90 sedan now see a price rise between Rs 1 lakh-3 lakh. The XC60 sees a 4 percent hike, which equates to Rs 2.4 lakh. Similarly, the S90’s price has gone up by 2 percent – about Rs 1 lakh.
Incidentally, the S90 and the XC60 now cost the same after the hike – Rs 65.90 lakh. The XC40 and XC90 share the same 3 percent price increment that equals to Rs 1.25 lakh and Rs 3 lakh, respectively. Therefore, the new prices of the two SUVs are Rs 44.50 lakh and Rs 93.90 lakh, respectively.

Volvo’s upcoming plans for India
Volvo has pushed forward with its electrification plans by updating the XC60, S90 and XC90 with petrol mild-hybrid powertrains. Volvo will soon launch its first EV, the recently showcased XC40 Recharge, in India and aims to introduce one new EV every year.
