Hyundai Venue facelift: more tech, connected car features and equipment
Hyundai has confirmed that the Venue facelift will get an updated infotainment system with more than 60 connected car features that can be operated via the Hyundai Blue Link app. Additionally, the updated compact SUV will also get Alexa and Google Voice Assistant, which can communicate in either English or Hindi languages. The refreshed Venue will also have a feature called 'Sounds of Nature', where it plays soothing, acoustic sounds like crackling fire or sea waves while driving. This feature is available on other Hyundai and Genesis models overseas. The Venue will also get a two-step reclining rear seat, which Hyundai claims is a first-in-segment feature.
Hyundai Venue facelift: 5 variants, expected powertrain options
Hyundai has also announced that the Venue facelift will come with five variants spread across multiple powertrains. Exterior paint shades on the refreshed Venue will be limited to seven. Dealer sources tell us that the engine-gearbox options are likely to remain unchanged from the pre-facelift version. This means the Venue petrol will come with a 1.2-litre engine in lower variants, while higher variants, including the upcoming Venue N-Line, will get the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. As far as diesel options go, the Venue is expected to continue with the 1.5-litre diesel engine. However, it remains to be seen if Hyundai offers a diesel-automatic configuration, which has been missing from the Venue line-up but is available on the Kia Sonet that comes with the same engine.
Hyundai Venue facelift: to be aimed squarely at the new Brezza
The updated Venue will see a strong competition from the all-new Maruti Suzuki Brezza compact SUV, which will go on sale by the end of this month. While the Brezza won't have a diesel option, the SUV has been updated to a larger extent compared to the mid-cycle refresh for the Venue. Additionally, the Kia Sonet received major updates recently too, and there is also the Tata Nexon, which has been constantly topping the sales charts in the segment. Expect more details on the updated Venue's interior, features and powertrains to trickle in in the coming days.
