The Oberoi Concours d’Elegance will be held in February 2024 at the Oberoi Udaivilas in Udaipur. The Concours event for the finest vintage and classic cars, which was earlier held as the Cartier Concours d’Elegance, will continue in India with the Oberoi Group partnership.
The 2024 Oberoi Concours d’Elegance will be curated by automotive historian Manvendra Singh Barwani who said the event “will take the heritage of automobile culture and the history of India to an international level.”
As before, the Concours d’Elegance will showcase both cars and motorcycles and those participating will undergo a rigorous selection process. A panel of experts will judge the automobiles, along with chairman of Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Sandra Button, who will serve as the chief judge.
Cartier pulled out as the title sponsor of the Concours d’Elegance event in India in 2020 owing to budget constraints, which were rumoured to be around USD 5 million (roughly Rs 39.93 crore). Additionally, a change in Cartier’s priorities in India is also said to be a part of the reason. The first edition of the Cartier Concours d’Elegance was first held in 2008 and had six editions by the time it was axed.
