TVS Apache RTR 160 4V spied: details
Incremental updates year after year are a TVS hallmark, which allows its motorcycles to stay relevant in the market. One of their most lauded models, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, has now been spotted testing a new muffler design seemingly for the next update.
In contrast to the double-barrel design of the current-gen Apache RTR 160 4V, this test mule sports a more stubby design for the exhaust muffler. This revision could have been done in order to extract more performance or ensure that the bike will meet stringent emission norms in the future.
The Apache RTR 160 4V is the current segment leader in terms of peak output, making 17.3hp at 9,250rpm and 14.73Nm at 7,250rpm, which is largely due to its 4-valve head design. You can also read about its race-replica sibling, the Apache RTR 165 RP, here.
TVS could quite possibly be looking to extend the Apache’s lead over the competition than what it is now, with the arrival of the Pulsar N160 having similar levels of performance.
