Ultraviolette Automotive has just announced that the highly anticipated and much-delayed F77 electric motorcycle will be launched on November 24. For the uninitiated, the Ultraviolette F77 is a performance-oriented electric motorcycle and the brand has major investment backing from TVS Motor Company.
The Ultraviolette F77 has been under development for a while and we’d ridden the first prototype a couple of years ago. Since then, there have been delays due to the pandemic as well as a few changes to the bike, which saw the launch date being delayed.
There have been significant changes made to the Ultraviolette F77, including the chassis as well as the way in which the battery pack is installed. The company also upgraded the cells in the battery pack, which could see a 15-20 percent jump in the overall range, from the previously claimed, real-world range of 130-150km. There has been some fine tuning of the chassis too with the battery pack now acting as a stressed member.
As for the pricing, the company had indicated back in 2019 that it plans to price the F77 between the Rs 3 lakh-3.25 lakh (on-road). However, with the rise in input and shipping costs, it’ll be interesting to see if the company can stick to its previously intended price point.
