I am driving a 2014 Hyundai Grand i10, and want to upgrade to a compact SUV. I have narrowed down my search to the Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI Ambition variant in manual guise, which will be driven by me and my wife. I am confused if I should go for the 1.0 automatic over the manual transmission. I occasionally drive on interstate highways once or twice a year. I also have a Renault Kwid automatic that I drive quite often.

Autocar India says: The Kushaq 1.0 automatic is a better option than the manual equivalent because of the sheer convenience an automatic offers. Besides, you are already used to an automatic transmission in the Kwid so adapting to a two-pedal auto won’t be a problem. Also, the Aisin six-speed torque converter automatic, which is mated to the Kushaq’s 1.0 engine is very smooth and responsive. The automatic may not be as fuel efficient as the manual, but we think it’s worth spending a bit on running costs for an easier driving experience.
