Hyundai i20 N-Line facelift: what’s new?
Just like the standard i20 refresh, the facelift for the sporty i20 N-Line also gets minor styling tweaks all around. There are no mechanical changes except the iMT gearbox seen on the previous car, now replaced by a six-speed manual. As far as powertrain goes, the i20 N-Line now gets only the 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine, this engine was earlier available on the standard i20 too. This engine continues to churn out 120hp and is mated to either a 7-speed DCT or a 6-speed manual gearbox. Like the pre-facelift car, the i20 N-Line facelift gets a sportier exhaust note. Hyundai says the suspension sees minor tweaks as well and is tuned for a sportier setup A significant upgrade is also the inclusion of rear disc brakes which isn’t available on the standard i20.
Hyundai i20 N Line: exterior design
To differentiate N-line i20 from the standard car, Hyundai offers a unique front bumper and parametric grille design. It also gets a new front splitter. A prominent N Line logo sits on the grille and there are red accents on the bumper as well, just like the pre-facelift car. The 16-inch alloy wheels get a new design. The brake calipers are red too along with some other unique styling touches on the side. At the back it gets a mildly altered bumper design with a prominent diffuser, red accents and twin-exhaust outlets and a tail gate spoiler along with dark chrome garnish connecting the two taillamps. Six single tone paint options are on offer on the facelifted i20 N-line. There are dual tone options available as well for an extra cost.
Hyundai i20 N Line: interior and features
The i20 N-Line shares its dashboard design with the standard car. The all-black interiors get subtle red-accents and N-line badging on the seats and steering wheel. It also gets red ambient lighting and a few minors tweaks to differentiate from the regular i20, like metal finish on the pedals, a leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob.
As far as infotainment goes, the refreshed i20 N-line gets similar equipment list as the standard top-spec i20. The 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto gets software updates, there’s a digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, cruise control, automatic climate control, a single-pane sunroof, 7-speaker Bose sound system a few other features.
Safety features include 6 airbags, 3-point seatbelts with seatbelt reminder for all passengers, tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), rear-view parking camera, automatic headlamps, electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSC), hill assist control (HAC) among others.
Hyundai i20 N Line: pricing and rivals
With the demise of the Polo GT TSI, the i20 N-line does not have a direct rival anymore. If compared with turbo-petrol engine equipped hatchbacks, the Altroz iTurbo with its 110hp engine can be termed as a rival. However, the turbo-petrol engine equipped Altroz does not get different exhaust or suspension tuning like the i20 N-line.
