Tata Motors recently overhauled its Nexon ICE and EV line-up with a major facelift inside and out. The company has also carried forward existing Nexon and Nexon.ev bookings to the facelifted SUV, and we’ve now got our hands on the waiting period for the Nexon.ev.

  1. Nexon.ev gets two range options
  2. Entry-level variants have higher waiting
  3. Nexon.ev prices start from Rs 14.74 lakh

Tata Nexon.ev: waiting period breakup

The erstwhile Nexon EV Prime is now called the Nexon.ev MR (Medium Range), while the Nexon EV Max is now called the Nexon.ev LR (Long Range). Both versions of the Nexon.ev are available in three broad trims – Creative, Fearless and Empowered. These trims also get optional packages denoted by a ‘+’ suffix.

Dealer sources tell us that every variant of the Nexon.ev has seen delivery timings almost double from 3-4 weeks to 6-8 weeks post the price announcement. The entry-level Nexon.ev Creative+ MR and Fearless have the highest waiting period of around 10 weeks in most cities as Tata is prioritising production of the top-spec variants. Other variants, including the Fearless+, Fearless+ S, Empowered and Empowered+ have a maximum waiting period of around eight weeks.

According to dealers, the Pristine White and Empowered Oxide are the most preferred colours on the Nexon.ev. Here's a detailed summary of the waiting period on the Tata Nexon.ev.

Tata Nexon EV waiting period
Creative+ 10-12 weeks
Fearless 8-10 weeks 8-10 weeks
Fearless+ 6-8 weeks 6-8 weeks

Tata Nexon.ev power output and range

The Nexon.ev gets a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) that produces 129hp in the MR variants and 145hp in the LR variants. However, torque outputs for both variants are the same at 215Nm, which is around 38Nm lower than the outgoing model.

The Nexon.ev MR and LR also continue with the same 30kWh and 40.5kWh battery packs, respectively, but the range has actually increased. The MR has an ARAI-claimed range of 325km, while the LR has a range of 465km, both of which are an improvement over the 312km and 437km claimed range of the pre-facelift model, respectively.

Key rivals to the Nexon.ev include the Mahindra XUV400, the Hyundai Kona EV and the MG ZS EV SUVs.
