I have a diesel Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and plan to replace it with another diesel compact SUV. Should I go in for diesel again or opt for any other fuel?

Autocar India says: The choice of diesels has reduced in the SUV segment as many brands, including Maruti Suzuki, have discontinued diesels. If you are looking for a direct replacement of your Brezza diesel with another diesel compact SUV, your choice is limited to the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300 and Tata Nexon diesel.
If space is not a concern, then we suggest you go in for the facelifted Sonet that was launched this month. It’s up to date, has the latest features and is superb to drive. The 1.5 diesel is excellent and (along with the Venue that uses the same engine) offers the best performance. However, both the Sonet and Venue are cramped at the back and not comfortable for tall adults. Hence, if you need more space, you could consider the Mahindra XUV300, which has a very spacious cabin, but a small boot; the model will also get a major overhaul soon. The Tata Nexon is also a sensible option, but the diesel 1.5 isn’t as good as the others.
