Between the Hyundai i20 and Maruti Baleno, which hatchback should I consider? My monthly run is approximately 1,200-1,500km and it’s mostly going to be used in the city, so comfort is important.

Autocar India says: Both the i20 and Baleno are good choices, and since your city running is considerable, it’s best you get an automatic. The Baleno is the more comfortable of the two thanks to its outstanding seats, which are well cushioned and supportive. The Baleno is also well equipped and its service network is more widespread. The i20, however, has more powertrain options, and whilst the Baleno’s automatic is an AMT, the i20 has superior auto gearboxes: a CVT and a twin-clutch automatic, which comes with the powerful and expensive 1.0 turbo variant. So if you enjoy driving, you’ll prefer the i20 but for regular day-to-day commute, the Baleno will do just fine.
