If you’re planning to buy a new car or an SUV, we've got you covered. Here’s a list of all the new cars and SUVs that are set to go on sale in the Indian market this month. This list includes updates for existing offerings, as well as some new models.
New Force Gurkha
The 2024 Force Gurkha recently made its debut and will be available in 3-door and 5-door guises. The Mahindra Thar rival gets a range of updates including new 4x4 switchgear, additional features, bigger wheels, seven seats (for the 5-door version) as well as a more powerful engine. We already know everything about the new Force Gurkha, except for its price, which will be revealed on May 2. You can check out our first drive review of the Force Gurkha 5-door here.
Next-gen Maruti Swift
The next-gen Swift will be Maruti Suzuki’s next big launch in India. Set to go on sale this month, the updated hatch will get Suzuki’s new Z12E 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine. Along with the new engine, the Swift will feature visual enhancements on the outside, a new cabin layout that will be inspired by Fronx/Baleno, and features like a larger infotainment screen with connected car tech, auto climate control, LED lighting, diamond-cut alloys, and more.
Taa Altroz Racer
The Tata Altroz Racer is expected to arrive in showrooms this month. The Hyundai i20 N Line rival will be offered with the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine as the Altroz iTurbo, but in a higher state of tune i.e. 120hp and 170Nm. It will be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox only, for now. Apart from the unique ‘Racer’ badges, the Altroz Racer will feature a dual-tone paint scheme, a revised grille, and a new design for the 16-inch alloy wheels, when compared to the standard Altroz.
Tata Nexon iCNG
First displayed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 earlier this year, the Nexon CNG will be the second Tata model that is expected to arrive this month. It will make use of the same dual-cylinder technology as the Punch CNG, Tiago CNG, and Tigor CNG. The power and torque output on the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine will see a slight reduction when paired with CNG.
The Tata Nexon CNG will become the first CNG car in the country with a turbo-petrol engine. Moreover, the Tata Nexon CNG could also be offered with an optional automatic gearbox.
New Porsche Panamera
Launched in November last year, the new third-gen Porsche Panamera is finally set to make its India debut this month. Priced from Rs 1.68 crore (ex-showroom) onwards, the Panamera will be available with a sole 2.9-litre, twin-turbo V6 engine coupled with an 8-speed PDK auto, feeding power to the rear wheels only. A V8 powertrain will also join the Panamera line-up at a later date.
