Tata Motors will soon introduce a range of updates for the Altroz premium hatchback. The updates will include a set of new features and safety tech, while the car will also gain three new variants.
- Altroz gains six airbags, 360-degree camera, 10.25-inch touchscreen
- Leatherette seats removed from all variants
- Altroz Racer launch soon with 120hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine
Tata Altroz: new features, variants
The Tata Altroz will gain new features like a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system as seen on the Nexon, Harrier, Safari and others. However, the bigger screen will be limited to the higher variants only, starting from the new XZ Lux variant. Lower and mid-level variants will continue to be offered with the 7-inch touchscreen.
The Altroz will also get a 360-degree camera with blind view monitor from the XZ Lux variant onwards, along with six airbags on the new range-topping XZ+ S Lux variant. It will also receive a new 7-inch TFT instrument cluster. On the flipside, the Altroz will lose leatherette seats, which will now only be offered with the upcoming Altroz Racer. The new variants on offer include XZ Lux, XZ+ S Lux and XZ+ S Lux Dark with pricing yet to be revealed.
Tata Altroz: powertrains
The Altroz will be available with the same 88hp, 1.2-litre NA petrol, 74hp, 1.2-litre petrol + CNG and 90hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine options. The 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that was available with the i-Turbo variants will now be offered with the new Altroz Racer exclusively. This engine now makes 120hp and 170Nm, and is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Tata Altroz Racer launch soon
The Tata Altroz Racer will go on sale very soon, with bookings already open. It will directly rival the Hyundai i20 N Line while also give competition to the Maruti Fronx turbo-petrol variants. The Altroz Racer will be available in three variants, and will be positioned above the standard Altroz.
