Kia India has issued a voluntary recall for 1,138 units of its EV6. The recall is prompted by a potential error in the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU), which may affect the performance of the 12V auxiliary battery.

  • EV6s made between March 3, 2022 and April 14, 2023 are affected
  • Affected vehicles to receive a software update at dealerships

The recall affects EV6s manufactured between March 3, 2022 and April 14, 2023. A similar recall was issued for the Kia EV6’s cousin, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, about a month ago. Kia says that the software of the Integrated Charging Control Unit in the affected units will be updated to rectify the issue.

The Korean brand says that it has informed the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) about the voluntary recall initiative, and will reach out to the owners of the concerned vehicles to update them about the recall. Owners of the affected vehicles would be required to get in touch with their respective Kia dealers to schedule an appointment for the update.
