Mahindra Thar Roxx interior images surface ahead of launch

0

Ahead of its launch on August 15, images of the Mahindra Thar Roxx’s interior have surfaced online, showcasing a lot of what we will see on the upcoming 5-door off-roader. The features that can be seen in the images show that the model seems to be is a mid-spec variant, as it misses out on a panoramic sunroof, ADAS and a 360-degree camera, among other premium features. However, there is still a decent amount of equipment seen.

  1. Mid-spec Thar Roxx to get larger infotainment touchscreen than Thar 3-door
  2. Thar 5-door to share steering wheel unit with Mahindra XUV700
  3. Other features include front and rear armrests, roof-mounted speakers

While the standard Thar and Thar Roxx share the same dashboard – from the passenger side grab bar to the circular AC vents – even the mid-spec version sports a larger infotainment touchscreen (likely to be a 10.25-inch unit) than the 7-inch one seen on the 3-door model. This variant also gets features like a standard air-con system, analogue dials with a digital MID, and steering-mounted toggles for the infotainment and cruise control systems. Speaking of the steering wheel, this unit is shared with Mahindra’s flagship SUV, the XUV700.

Other noticeable features on the mid-spec Thar Roxx include individual arm rests for the front seats, a centre arm rest in the reclining rear bench seat, three-point seat belts and adjustable headrests for all five passengers, rear AC vents, roof-mounted rear speakers, power windows, and a single-pane sunroof.

The model seen here is a manual gearbox-equipped version, and misses out on the 4x4 running gear that will be available on higher variants. Powertrain options for the Thar Roxx will include an entry-level 1.5-litre diesel engine, a 2.2-litre diesel and a 2.0-litre petrol engine, with the larger two engines coming with automatic gearbox options.

Considering prices for the Mahindra Thar 3-door start at Rs 11.35 lakh and go up to Rs 17.60 lakh, the Thar Roxx is expected to cost between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 20 lakh. More details will be revealed as the August 15 launch date approaches. Stay tuned.
