Nissan has launched the X-Trail in India at Rs 49.92 lakh, making it the company’s flagship offering here. While the three-row premium SUV segment now has six offerings, the Skoda Kodiaq is the only other SUV apart from the X-Trail to offer a monocoque chassis and a petrol engine combo. The Nissan X-Trail’s 1.5-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine puts out 163hp and 300Nm, and is mated to a CVT gearbox that feeds power to the front wheels. The three-row SUV has a claimed efficiency of 13.7kpl. In comparison, the Skoda Kodiaq gets a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol producing 190hp and 320Nm. It gets a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox with a 4WD configuration, and has a claimed fuel economy figure of 13.32kpl.
