The new Dzire can also be had via Maruti's subscription service with a monthly EMI of Rs 18,248. It's available in four trims – LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+; CNG is available on the mid-spec VXi and ZXi trims.

New Maruti Dzire dimensions, design

The new Dzire is 3,995mm long, 1,735mm wide and 1,525mm high, with a 2,450mm wheelbase and a 163mm ground clearance.  Dimensionally, it is nearly identical to the outgoing Dzire except for in height where its 10mm taller. Notably, the design is a complete departure from the outgoing model, and unlike the previous-gen Dzires, the latest car doesn’t share its looks with the Swift at all.

At the front, the new Dzire gets a flat hood with subtle creases at each corner. It gets stylish Audi-esque “Crystal vision” headlamp units with blacked-out surrounds. The hexagonal grille is bigger and features six horizontal slats, with the top-most featuring a piano black and chrome finish. In profile, the doors and fenders get more contoured surfaces and the shoulder line rises subtly towards the rear. The alloy wheel design is new as well, with a diamond-cut pattern for higher variants.

At the rear, the new Dzire gets squarish taillamp design with “3D Trinity LED elements.” The boot-lid design and the rear bumper look similar to the predecessor’s, save for some new contouring at the lower end of the bumper.

New Maruti Dzire interior, features

On the inside, the overall design mimics the Swift hatchback, although it gets multiple colours and textures as opposed to the black and silver theme on the Swift. The upholstery is finished in beige while the dashboard gets dark brown, faux wood and silver trims to spruce up the cabin. It comes with the same 9-inch Smartplay Pro Plus unit seen on many other Maruti models, and gets wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity along with connected car features.

In a first for the Dzire, higher variants come with a factory-fitted sunroof. While it is only a single-pane unit, it is a first for any sub-compact sedan. Additionally, the new Dzire also gets cruise control, rear AC vents and a rear center armrest along with a 360 degree camera.

New Maruti Dzire engine, specs

The new Dzire comes with the same Z12E, three-cylinder, 1.2-litre petrol engine that saw its debut on the Swift earlier this year. Output figures of 82hp and 111.7Nm are identical to the Swift. Gearbox choices include a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT automatic. It now also comes with an idle start/stop feature. With CNG, the engine produces 69.75hp and 101.8Nm of torque.

New Maruti Dzire safety rating

The new Maruti Dzire has scored an impressive 5 stars in adult occupant protection (AOP) and a 4-star safety rating for child occupant protection (COP), making it the first Maruti to score a 5-star rating from Global NCAP. Safety features on the new Dzire include six airbags, ESP, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, three-point seat belts for all seats and ISOFIX mounts.

While the fourth-gen Dzire replaces the outgoing model for private buyers, the third-gen car however, will continue to be sold as Dzire Tour for the fleet markets.
