Toyota Innova Hycross vs Mahindra XUV700

Which is the better car between the Toyota Innova Hycross (non-hybrid) and Mahindra XUV700? I'm looking at their petrol-automatic top variants only, with all bells and whistles.

Autocar India says: As you haven't mentioned your requirements in detail, it will be difficult to give you a conclusive response. The Toyota Innova Hycross (petrol-auto) is an excellent chauffeur-driven car with a comfortable second and third row of seats, as well as a pliant ride quality. It also has a more accommodating boot with all three rows in place. In addition, the Innova's petrol-CVT is likely to be more efficient than the 200hp Mahindra XUV700. However, in terms of the cabin experience or its feature-set, the Hycross petrol-auto falls short, since its top-spec is only reserved for the hybrid version.

The XUV700 feels more upmarket, and its cabin delivers a 'wow' effect in terms of the design, quality and its expansive set of features, for a relatively small premium. It is better to drive with a stronger engine, and relatively sportier dynamics, and in isolation, seat comfort is very good too. In summary, the Hycross will be a reliable chauffeur-driven car, but the XUV700 is far more rounded and makes you feel like you've spent your money well.
